Carton House has opened its doors as a luxury hotel. Minimalist interiors, spacious modern rooms, contemporary art and sparkling chandeliers contrast magnificently with the untouched classic exterior and original antique pieces.
Following this fantastic makeover, Carton House is now welcoming guests to experience this enchanting world, steeped in history, but with all the comforts of a luxury hotel. Just half an hour outside Dublin, the beautifully elegant Palladian house is set in over a thousand acres of stunning parkland, and has attracted a long list of glamorous guests from Queen Victoria to Grace Kelly.
The bright colours and contemporary artwork of the reception welcomes guests into the lavish and indulgent world of Carton House. With the expert eye of acclaimed architects and designers Carton House is an aesthetic masterpiece. Striking modern art adorns the walls and large glass windows flood the reception with natural light, while high ceilings across the main house create a sense of space and grandeur. The curved corridors are decorated with black and white photographs of the original house, leading guests on an alluring journey through the history of the estate.

From Dublin, take the main N4 motorway westbound. From the motorway, take the “Leixlip West” exit and follow the signs to Carton House. Carton House is approximately a five minute drive from the N4 motorway exit.
From the west, take the N4 motorway to Dublin and approximately 20km from Dublin city, take the Maynooth exit and follow the signs to Carton House. Carton House is approximately a five minute drive from the N4 motorway exit.
Carton House is only a 40 minutes train journey from Croke Park, Ireland’s premier venue for sporting and entertainment events.

Relish the freedom to enjoy the authentic woodland, meandering Rye River and Carton lakes of the 1,100-acre private Estate on which Carton House is superbly located.
Carton House offers guests an abundance of activities to enjoy in true spirit of a resort property. From pursuits involving physical exercise to the more relaxed beauty treatments, we will attempt to ensure you leave Carton House refreshed, relaxed and replenished.
Our guests often debate whether staying at the Carton House is more relaxing than vigorous or the other way round. There are golfing, fishing, walks, clay pigeon shooting, off-road driving, mountain biking - all with expert help and tuition.

The Linden Tree
Dining at Carton House is a truly memorable experience. The Linden Tree Restaurant a beautiful setting for every occasion with a pleasing space of cushioned walls, walnut panelling, marble floors and cream leather seats and the presence of nature enhanced by three massive bay windows.

Carton House has recently introduced its very own interpretation on the High Tea. Taken in The Linden Tree Restaurant where large bright windows flood this dazzling dining room with natural daylight and provide wonderful views over the Linden trees immediately outside and lawns and parklands further in the distance, High Tea sits from 2pm to 5pm on Sundays.

Carton House suites housed in the original building provide once again rooms that are fit for royalty. Each is tastefully decorated to reflect the gracious living of bygone days married with luxuries of today’s lifestyles. From large open plan rooms with private dining facilities to Victorian architecture with intimate sitting rooms and four poster beds, each suite offers spectacular garden and countryside views.
Presidential Suite
The Presidential Suite at Carton House offer a unique experience of staying in rooms that Lords and Lady’s stayed in. The Lady Emily and The Dukes Suite have high ceilings with long windows that give speculator views of the gardens.
The Duke Suite
In the Duke’s Suite, the four poster Duff Tisdall bed, clad in velvet, is bordered by feather trimmed silk lamps. There are vibrant silk lined curtains while the walls are decorated with a modern interpretation of the Duke of Leinster’s portrait and a ply flat packed stag and deer heads. The heads are sprayed black and mounted on 'metal x ' wallpaper. In the sitting room the black lacquered dining tables compliments the silver harp-back chairs.

The Duke Suite located in the main house contents, four poster bed with a fireplace in the bedroom, full sitting room and dining area combined to seat 10 persons with a fireplace and large windows, well appointed bathroom with double sinks with a freestanding bath and fireplace with a separate WC.
The Lady Emily Suite
The Lady Emily Suite located in the main house consists of a luxurious four poster bed with fireplace in bedrooms, full sitting room with high ceilings, large windows and a fireplace, well appointed bathroom with a freestanding bath, double sinks and walk in shower.
